The Sacramento Police Department is hosting a bone marrow drive on Friday, June 29, 2007, from 8AM to 5PM at 5770 Freeport Boulevard. The motivation for the drive is to augment the potential donor pool to help those afflicted with diseases requiring bone marrow transplants.

On Monday, June 18, 2007, the Sacramento Police Department and the Sacramento Sheriff’s Department started a two-day regional crackdown on gangs. The operation, known as S.N.A.G. (Sacramento Neighborhoods Against Gangs), involved 21 law enforcement agencies and over 350 sworn law enforcement officers.

The Sacramento Police Department is asking for the public’s help to identify a suspect responsible for three home invasions. The crimes took place at the River Terrace Apartments, located at 2592 Millcreek Drive.

Last week, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) released their National Crime Statistics for 2006. The report revealed that crime was up by 1.3% on a national scale from 2005. The data was collected from more than 11,700 law enforcement agencies.
